Burlington Transit: voices have choices

  • “Voices have Choices” was created by Barrett and Welsh for Burlington Transit to promote awareness of and participation in its public consultation sessions. The sessions were intended to promote open conversation around The Route Ahead – Burlington’s Transit Master Plan. The Route Ahead proposed many measures to significantly increase transit use, improve efficiency, including a downtown terminal. Our message to Burlington residents was direct. If you don’t speak, you may not be heard. If you do, you could make a huge difference. It was a campaign to remind our audience that while participation – and non-participation – are both options, only participation had the power to influence outcomes. The copy closed the loop by reminding residents that whether they wanted to be a voice for change or the voice of tradition or the voice of reason they needed to begin by being voices that are heard.
